Learning styles are a way to help improve your quality of learning. By understanding your own
personal styles, you can adapt the learning process and techniques you use.
The following instructions take you to a website which is dedicated to helping you better
understand learning styles, as well as providing an easy way to discover your own styles.
Once you have completed of the online learning styles analysis, you will receive an email
containing study tips based on your preferred learning styles. This is completely free, and courtesy of AHeadStart.
7 Major Learning Styles
AURAL: You prefer using sound and music.
LOGICAL: You prefer using logic, systems and reasoning.
PHYSICAL: You prefer using you body, hands and sense of touch. Also known as
kinaesthetic.
SOCIAL: You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
SOLITARY: You prefer to work alone and use self study.
VERBAL: You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.
VISUAL: You prefer using pictures, images and spatial understanding.
Instructions
1. Go to http://www.learning-styles-online.com/inventory/userInfo.asp?groupID=3085
2. The webpage is titled "Learning Styles Inventory Login for existing Users". Click on
'start or continue with the questions'.
3. Complete all the questions by selecting:
0 - if the statement is nothing like you
1 - if the statement is partially like you
2 - if the statement is very much like you
4. Once you have completed all 7 pages, press Submit.
5. Enter information into Your User Profile.
Under the Group Details:
Group Code: AHeadStart
Group Password: tuition
Once you have completed this, press View Results.
6. Print Your Results page to keep for your records or else write down your Style Scores.
These are important as they tell you which are your most and least preferred learning styles.
7. To find out more information about Learning Styles and ideas for learning and studying
effectively choose Learning Styles from the menu on the left side of the screen. I can also provide you with copies of this information.
8. You will receive an email within 48 hours with study tips based on your preferred learning
