Newsletter No. 3 Term 1, February 2010 Contents:
Happy New Year! I hope you have had an enjoyable time off work and study, despite the disappointing weather recently. As you are all aware, the school year is just beginning for everyone. If anyone has any questions about mathematics and science subject choices, I am more than happy to give you my advice. Just give me a call or reply to this email. Although it is very early in the year, I would like to remind you that hard work early in the year saves a lot of stress closer to exam time. It also results in better grades, which everyone would like to attain. Keep in mind that although exams seem a long way off, the year always goes by very quickly. Make the most of now!! All the best for 2010.Melanie

The New Year has brought about some changes with the AHeadStart team. Some of the 2009 AHeadStart tutors have moved on to new pastures. John Aitken, our featured tutor in the last newsletter, has completed his Mechanical Engineering degree and has now started work with Scott Technology in Dunedin. Congratulations John! I'm sure there will be many students who will miss him. Stewart Gavin, a chemistry tutor in 2009 has left to concentrate on his own business. Risto Seizov and Jason Wang are still with us, which is fantastic! This week I have been interviewing more potential tutors, particularly for Physics, Chemistry and Statistics. I will inform you about these new members of our team in the next newsletter.
