Bailey

Hi, my name is Bailey and I am an NCEA Economics and English tutor at AHeadStart this year.  I have just completed my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy at the University of Otago.  This year, I will be completing my Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology at the University of Canterbury.  My long-term goal is to gain a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology to become a practicing Clinical Psychologist.

During high school, I achieved overall excellence endorsements in NCEA levels 1-3, as well as excellence course endorsements for English and Economics.  I have always loved studying English and Economics and was ranked top in my year for English in NCEA level 1 and Economics in NCEA level 3.  When I’m not studying towards my degree, I am a competitive Irish Dancer.  I also enjoy going to the beach with my French Bulldog Frankie, playing the guitar and the ukulele, and baking.

Above all else, my greatest passion is mental health and wellbeing.  Education can be a great source of pride and self-confidence if one is given the right tools and encouragement to succeed.  As a tutor, my goal is to help students achieve the goals they set for themselves so that they can gain confidence in their learning material, but most importantly in themselves.  And of course, having fun is a must!
