Wendy

Hello! My name is Wendy and I am a biology, chemistry, science and mathematics tutor at AHeadStart. I am currently in my final year studying biochemistry at the University of Canterbury. In 2015, I graduated from St Margaret's College with the diploma of the International Baccalaureate. I have also completed NCEA level one and level two mathematics, allowing an excellent understanding of both the IB and NCEA curriculum. As well as being fluent in English, I can also speak conversational Mandarin and Japanese, allowing bilingual teaching if needed.

 In high school, I was in many leadership positions and have been awarded in many academic, sporting and cultural prizes. Despite these commitments, I also maintained my academic grades well, as demonstrated by a GPA of 8.0 throughout the 2 years. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, playing the piano, drawing and watching movies.

Through my experience as a tutor since 2013, I have developed the ability to identify the student's difficulties. I have tutored students in different age groups, students with learning disability, and students with English as their second language. I am passionate about learning and teaching. I would like to help everyone to gain confidence and enjoyment in learning. As a tutor, I will always motivate my students to strive towards their goals. It would be my privilege to tutor you this year, I look forward meeting you!
