Hello there! Thanks for checking out my Tutor Profile.

My name is Hamish, I was born in the lovely city of Christchurch and have lived here my whole life. I attended Christchurch Boys’ High School and have had strong values instilled from a young age. I am considered thoughtful, conscientious, and all-around friendly – an ideal fit for a tutoring role.

My subject specialty is English, but I also tutor in Economics, Chinese, as well as Mathematics & Science. English is a subject I’ve always found joy being able to express myself in and I have three consecutive merit endorsements to show for it, and since that time my interest in the subject has only grown. I now study Management and Language at the University of Canterbury, and one of the most prominent abilities that I took from English is being able to articulate my thoughts and present ideas effectively. In our increasingly connected age proper communication is invaluable, so I am only happy to ensure others can do so as well.

I am well-read and have studied the NCEA Curriculum for English extensively. Being able to pass on skills and knowledge to others is one of the most fulfilling things you can do in my opinion, so I am keen to put in the extra effort to see that my students succeed in their goals and enjoy the subject most of all.
