Sarah

Hi, my name is Sarah and am in my fourth year studying Mechatronics Engineering at Canterbury University. I am very excited to be tutoring this year, in Physics, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Studies, Mathematics and Science at all secondary school levels. I can also tutor primary school students in English, Mathematics and Science.

I have a wide range of exemplar exams, essays and assignments from my time at high school and I believe techniques and resources are essential to help you study smarter. I graduated in 2018 and achieved excellence endorsements for all tutoring subjects at levels 1 and 2, and merit endorsements at level 3.

I am very up-to-date with the NCEA curriculum, tutoring students in my final year of high school and tutoring my younger brother for the last three years in physics, calculus and chemistry. I did maths a year ahead throughout high school and university and completed the MATH199 course at the University of Canterbury with an A grade in my final year of high school.

I was the academic and student support prefect in year 13, which helped further develop my communication, leadership and mentoring skills. I was the top student in physics for level 1 and top in biology for level 2. In year 13, I was awarded the Kendrick Barker trophy for the top mathematics student. I also obtained the Nelson Soroptimist education trust award for mentoring and the year 13 dean's award. I was awarded the Edna Waddell scholarship for women in engineering, the EPE centre scholarship and a First Foundation scholarship for university.

In my spare time, I like to paint and play the guitar. I have a genuine passion for mathematics and science subjects and learning in general. I am invested in helping you succeed!
