Madeline

Hi there! My name is Madeline and I have completed a BSc majoring in Psychology at the University of Canterbury. I’m loving my study and aim to join the Child and Family Psychology postgraduate program. My areas of expertise are English (both NCEA level and primary school), History, Social Studies and Primary School Mathematics.

I absolutely love working with people. My favourite part of helping others with their study is seeing the look on their face when they understand a concept that they found impossible before. As my first year with AHeadStart, I am so excited to share what I know with others.

I have produced academic results of a high level throughout my years of schooling and in tertiary study, and I know the value of hard work and perseverance. I have achieved Excellence endorsements throughout high school, as well as achieving top rankings in English and History at Burnside High School for my year.

I love working with other people, and have enjoyed some great leadership opportunities in recent years. Over the last two years I have had the honour of working with TEDxYouth@Christchurch and TEDxChristchurch to produce amazing events that cultivate ideas worth spreading. Through this I worked with guest speakers from 11 to 65 years old, editing speeches and working with them to perform to their best. I have also been invited to several leadership conferences such as the Emerging Leaders Conference 2016 and have worked with new students entering high school as a Peer Support leader.

When I’m not at university, I love to help out with my sister’s horses, go on adventures with friends and bake up a storm! I am friendly, understanding and supportive, and I hope to bring out the best in others!
