Emma RU

Hey! My name is Emma and I am a fourth year tutor at AHeadStart! I tutor students in Maths, the Sciences and Geography.

Originally from Wellington, I graduated from Wellington Girls College in 2014, with excellence endorsements at all three levels of NCEA and Scholarship Geography. I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Canterbury where I am studying toward a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Civil Engineering, and a Diploma in Global Humanitarian Engineering. I ahve just been on excahnge for a semester at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. My interests include skiing, hiking, biking and anything else outside!

I was a peer tutor during my final years of high school and really enjoyed it, so have been tutoring ever since. I have a fresh and up to date understanding of how the NCEA system works. I know what is expected of students at each level and have lots of tips and tricks to help students excel. I enjoy helping students achieve their academic goals through tutoring and aim to create positive and engaging learning environment for all students. I am a patient, friendly and adaptable teacher who will go the extra mile to help anyone reach their goals.
