Courtney

Kia ora, I am Courtney, and I tutor Biology, Chemistry, Classics and History from Level 1 to Level 3 and English, Mathematics & Science for younger year levels. I am currently in my fourth and final year at the University of Canterbury, where I am studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biological Sciences and Chemistry.

In 2019, I graduated from Epsom Girls' Grammar school in Auckland, receiving a Top Scholars award for obtaining 97 and 93 Excellence credits at NCEA Level 2 and Level 3, respectively. As a result, I have obtained a variety of Excellence subject endorsements, especially in Chemistry, Classics and History. 

Initially, I came to Christchurch in 2020 to study a Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours), majoring in Chemical and Processes Engineering. However, in my second semester, I took an evolutionary biology course. This course helped ignite my passion for the subject, so much so that I changed my degree and career path. 

Outside of studying and tutoring, I am active and enjoy cycling and walking. In my free time, I love to bake, read a good, long book, and listen to way too much Hard Rock music. I also like exploring Christchurch with my friends, and finding new places and activities I have never done before. 

I really enjoy tutoring and have several years of experience from my high school and Uni journey. I am passionate about learning and I am very committed to ensuring that you reach your potential. I am also a friendly and positive person, who understands the difficulty of trying to balance learning with other responsibilities, such as work and family time. I am very excited to work as a tutor so that I can impart my knowledge and passion to others, as well as help you achieve your goals to a high standard.
