Lauren

Hi there, I’m Lauren, I’m one of the many amazing tutors that are working at AHeadStart. I’m currently working towards a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), with a mechanical specialty. I tutor Mathematics, Science, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Economics, and Physics.

I’m originally from Wellington and attended Whitby Collegiate. I achieved Merit endorsed in Level 2 and Excellence endorsed in Levels 1 and 3, as well as Merit and Excellence endorsed in all subjects I tutor. Through my time in high school, I was able to learn study skills that have helped me throughout NCEA and University. I’ve kept A and B course grade averages that come from good study habits and understanding the concepts behind the material well. It’s this understanding of concepts that allows me to explain questions to the students and link the ideas behind them.

In my final year in high school, I was House Captain, which was a role I really loved due to the amount of interaction with all-year groups in the school. That role gave me the opportunity to understand how difficult school can be for students that are struggling in the subjects, and helped me learn how to support them so that they can succeed in all their endeavors.
