Hi, I’m Dylan and I’m a tutor in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry and Science. I am currently in my first professional year (second year of study) of a Bachelor of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Canterbury.
I grew up in Invercargill where I attended Verdon College and was awarded Dux of the college in 2018. I gained Excellence endorsement in NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3 and achieved Excellence endorsement in all levels of the subjects I have chosen to tutor therefore have a good understanding of the material required for each grade.
I took level 1 Mathematics and Statistics as a year 10 student and was awarded top in class. I followed this up the following year by taking level 2 Mathematics and Statistics alongside taking level 2 physics while in year 11. Whilst in year 12 I took level 3 Physics, Calculus and Statistics gaining top in class honors for Statistics. I was also awarded top in level 2 Chemistry and level 3 Chemistry and Accounting. While I was at Verdon, I also gained an A+ in a first-year university mathematics course through UC.
In my spare time I enjoy playing social sports such as football and basketball and doing Mountain Biking. I have competed nationally around the country in various Mountain Biking events with the highlight being a 3rd place in the National Cup Series in 2016.
I worked in a tutoring company in Invercargill for part of Year 12 and all of Year 13, alongside doing private tutoring ever since Year 11. This means I have lots of experience tutoring and learnt a variety of teaching styles. I have a passion for all the subjects I tutor and am looking forward tutoring future students.
