Grace

Hi everyone, my name is Grace Flint and I am excited about becoming a tutor at AHeadStart this year! I am in my first year at the University of Canterbury studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics. The subjects I am tutoring are Physics, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, junior English, Classical Studies, Mathematics and Science.

I am a Christchurch local, attending St Margarets College for high school. Whilst at high school, I achieved highly in my subjects achieving Excellence endorsement at Level 1 and 2 and Merit endorsement at level 3. I achieved Excellence or Merit endorsements in all subjects I teach, so I have a great understanding of the subject material NCEA covers and know how to achieve highly.

I graduated from St Margarets College in 2019 and was awarded the award for top Physics student in 2018. I was awarded NCEA scholarships in Biology and Classical Studies in 2019, I also was a recipient of the University of Otago young leaders of tomorrow scholarship in 2019.

I am passionate about the subjects I tutor and aim to help others love them as much as I do through tutoring. I understand the difficulties that come with academic self-doubt as it is something I struggled with over the past few years and with tutoring at AHeadStart I hope to help others overcome this.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting, hanging out with friends, watching TV and thrift shopping.
