Pearl

Hello! My name is Pearl and I tutor English, History, Economics, Media Studies, and German. I am currently completing my second year at the University of Canterbury, studying a double major of Economics and Political Science.

Throughout high school and university, I have always strived to perform well in my academic achievements. I find school to be a place of great opportunity and learning, which provides students with the chance to build connections with peers and teachers alike. I have taken an interest in a wide range of subjects and excelled in many of them. I was awarded Excellence Endorsements in all my years at High School, was presented with the History and Drama cups, and was Drama Captain in Year 13. I also took up leadership roles, such as being a part of the Student Leaders in Year 13 and acting as a guide/mentor for Year 9 students. Thus far, in University I have been rewarded high marks for my courses, have been a Class Rep, and am involved in a range of different University Clubs.

In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities and events, cooking, reading, playing board games with my friends, and watching movies!

As a tutor, I wish to guide and help students further their understanding of subjects, provide them with useful advice and tools to better their academic capabilities, and hopefully, help them develop a passion for the subject!
