Oliver C

Hello! My name is Oliver and I am one of the passionate tutors here at ahead start. I am currently studying mechatronics engineering at the University of Canterbury. These studies have enriched my knowledge in Calculus, Physics and Chemistry which are all subjects I tutor best in. 

Doing fairly well in NCEA I achieved excellence endorsements in levels 1, 2 and 3. Where I really shined was being an all-round student which was gratefully acknowledged after being awarded the Robert McDougall prize for significant contribution as a leader, and Distinction in the Student in the Community programme. During my studies at UC I was also awarded the Rochester and Rutherford academic Merit award.

However; I was not always so academically inclined during my younger years so I do understand the struggles students can through and how overwhelming it can be at times. My approaches to learning are to understand the content on a fundamental level and understand how the test marks you. That way you have all the tools to do well well it matters even when thrown a curveball.

Outside of university, I play a number of sports and am also an enthusiast of the outdoors hence I also enjoy hiking related activities. I also have passions for photography and playing and making music.
