Natalija

Hi, I’m Natalija! I am currently in my second year at the University of Canterbury, studying towards a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Classics and History) and a Bachelor of Laws. This year, I will be tutoring English, Spanish, Classics and History at AHeadStart.

I graduated from Saint Kentigern College in 2018 with the successful completion of my International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Under the programme, I studied English, Latin and History at Higher Level, and Spanish, Biology and Mathematical Studies at Standard Level. Prior to this, I completed NCEA Level One with an Excellence Endorsement. During my time at school, I was heavily involved in Theatresports (as both a player and a coach), school productions and the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Rhythmic Gymnastics was also a large part of my life while I was at school. I was involved in the sport for ten years, and was even fortunate enough to have the opportunity to compete in Malaysia, Singapore, America and Australia. My involvement in Gymnastics taught me the value of hard-work, the importance of resilience and my passion for teaching, which I discovered when I started coaching young gymnasts at my club in 2015.

As all students are very different, I believe that it is important to teach them in a way that will complement their style of learning. During tutorials, I will suggest strategies suited to students’ learning style or manner of thinking that will enhance their ability to overcome difficulties they may encounter. I will also encourage students to think about their academic goals during tutorials so that I can help them succeed.
