Hi! I’m George and I would love to tutor you in Mathematics with Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, or Economics. This year I have begun my second year of study towards my Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Civil Engineering.
I graduated Burnside High School in 2019, having earned over 260 excellence credits. I endorsed every level of NCEA with Excellence overall, and received 12 excellence course endorsements, the remainder being merit endorsements. Additionally, in years 11 and 12 I took Cambridge Mathematics, and in year 13 I took the University of Canterbury’s accelerated mathematics programme for secondary school students (which covered first year university mathematics). I earned an A+ in this programme and was awarded an AIMS scholarship. Last year my GPA was 8.63, (an A+ average mark).
During high school I volunteered as a Peer Tutor, and I worked as an AHeadStart tutor last year, so I have experience in tutoring NCEA subjects. I was also selected as a Year 9 Support prefect, which gave me experience in leading large and small groups of younger students. This service was one reason why I was awarded the Noeline Clark scholarship, the other reasons being my good character, temperament, and involvement in other extra-curriculars.
On the weekend I’m an avid tennis player, having competed in interclub tournaments for many years. I have also recently taken up tramping and am enjoying exploring all the sights New Zealand has to offer. In summer you can also find me in the ocean, waterskiing and biscuiting; or in the winter, I’ll be on the slopes skiing.
I’m really excited to help you achieve your academic goals and hope to see you soon!
