Kristen

Hi there, my name is Kristen, and I’m a Calculus, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Science, and English tutor. I’m currently a third-year university student studying a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree at the University of Canterbury (UC).

I graduated from high school in Tauranga in 2018 and excellence endorsed all my subjects in Level 1 and Level 2. For Level 3, I excellence endorsed Calculus, English, and Chinese and merit endorsed Physics and Chemistry.  Currently, for university, I have maintained an ‘A’ average. I have been awarded multiple scholarships for my academic achievements. For example, the UC AIMS scholarship for my ‘A+’ grade in a first-year university Mathematics course I took in high school, the UC Excel scholarship, the UC Engineering High Achievers Award, the UC EPECentre scholarship, and scholarships for my involvement in my school.

I understand how difficult it is to overcome academic self-doubt as I struggled with it in my final year of high school.  Hence, this year, I have made it a mission to help others by being a peer mentor for my faculty and by being a tutor for AHeadStart. I would love to help other students who could be in this situation and help them excel.

In my spare time, I like to draw, read, go op-shopping, studying when I’m not under a time crunch, and spending time outdoors.
