Kate

Hi, my name is Kate and I am currently in my third year at Canterbury University studying towards a Bachelor of Science double majoring in Biology and Biochemistry.

During my studies at Christchurch Girls' High School I achieved excellence endorsements across levels 1, 2 and 3. This included excellence and merit subject endorsements in all of my subjects including those I am tutoring of Biology, Chemistry, History, Mathematics and Calculus. In order to obtain these results, a well-rounded understanding of both the subject and each topic involved was necessary.

My current studies at UC have enabled me to further my knowledge in the sciences while also providing great life experiences and the ability to meet different people through study groups and assignments. This has encouraged me to understand the differences between each person’s learning style and in what ways they learn best.

I believe building a positive and fun relationship with my students is vital to ensure a comfortable environment where they aren’t afraid to ask questions or discuss topics with me. This would allow the potential for optimum learning and growth and the ability to achieve their goals. I have a big passion for the subjects I teach so an aim of mine would be to hopefully inspire this same passion in others.

I spend a lot of my time at University during the year but in my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, dancing and drawing.
