Zoe

Hi! My name is Zoe, and I am 20 years old, currently studying at the University of Canterbury. I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and Environmental Science. I am studying the Cellular and Molecular fields of Biology, and I plan to continue my study and gain a postgraduate degree.

I am a tutor at AHeadStart for Biology, Geography, Statistics, English, Science and Mathematics. I attended high school at Baradene College in Auckland, and I endorsed with excellence every year of NCEA. I also had many subjects endorsed with excellence, and I gained scholarship in Biology and Geography. In year 13 I received the Trophy for diligence in studies and full participation in school life. This highlights my drive for success and a good understanding of NCEA and the content of both the external and internal subjects. I also participated in cross country and athletics and was the cross country code captain. This has given me communication skills and an ability to work well with others.

At high school I participated in a tutor/tutee program. This has given me valuable experience which has helped me gain skills that are important for tutoring, such as communication, patience, and being able to teach other people in a way that helps them learn best. By tutoring specifically to students learning styles, I will be able to help them learn in a way that resonates with them and helps them to understand concepts.

I am passionate about the subjects that I teach, and I am highly motivated for students to succeed. I want everyone to be able to achieve to their highest potential, and I find it very rewarding teaching others. I will help students to achieve grades that they are proud of, and that may help them achieve future goals such as study after school.

I look forward to tutoring you and helping you to succeed!
