Sophie

Hi! My name is Sophie, and I am an Accounting, Economics, and Statistics tutor for AHeadStart. I am currently in my first year at the University of Canterbury studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting, Economics and Finance.

I am originally from Hamilton, where I attended St Paul’s Collegiate. During my time at St Pauls, I endorsed both Level 2 and Level 3 with excellence, and graduated with honours. I was a full school and academic prefect, which, as part of my responsibilities, included tutoring younger students. Last year, I was awarded the PwC School Scholarship, and also received the University of Canterbury Emerging Leaders Scholarship and UC Excellence Scholarship.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy playing tennis and hockey to a competitive level. Juggling competitive sports alongside academia throughout high school taught me the importance of time management and balance. I am a firm believer that hard work pays off, and with the right attitude nothing is impossible. I have a passion and drive for success, making me very excited to tutor students this year and help you achieve your desired results.
