Samantha

Hi, I am Samantha Plows and I tutor Biology, History, English, Social Studies, and Science throughout NCEA with AHeadStart. I am currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology at the University of Canterbury.

In NCEA I gained all three levels with excellence endorsement, gaining an excellence scholarship, and a scholarship in Biology. I also have excellence and merit endorsements for all subjects I tutor. I have a great understanding of NCEA subject material and aim to tutor others so that they can obtain a high level of success with this knowledge.

I am based in Rangiora, and graduated from Rangiora High School in 2019, being awarded top in my year for Biology, and top academic for my house. Furthermore, I was also given a service award for my time as academic captain, and a librarian, which helped to grow my leadership skills. I also volunteered at the Rangiora Library for 6 years running a children's book club, helping to develop their skills with reading and comprehension.

In my spare time, I can usually be found practicing at the Smallbore Range, where I am team captain of the top junior team in the South Island. I can also be found observing the skies at the Canterbury Astronomical Society’s observatory.
