Jacob

Hi there! I'm Jacob and I've been tutoring with AHeadStart for three years now. My subjects are English, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics and Business. I am a fifth year student at the University of Canterbury studying a conjoint of Law and Commerce, majoring in Accounting/Taxation and Finance.

My interest in tutoring stems from a passion for engaging with students and finding out the way that they learn best. When with students I am friendly, patient, and equip the student with all of the guidance & resources that they need in order to succeed. If a student is having difficulties understanding the content taught by their teacher, I am great at finding another way to approach the problem so that it clicks for the student. 

While at Christchurch Boys' High School, I became very familiar with what it takes to excel at NCEA. In NCEA level 3, I gained Excellence for 100% of internal assessments, overall Excellence endorsement, and Excellence subject endorsements for 4 of my 5 subjects. For those students going for top grades in NCEA assessments, I can help to ensure that your preparation and study will set you up as best as possible to achieve your desired grade.

In my own time, I enjoy playing football or reading a good biography.
